In-Chat Token Transfers

Whisper seamlessly merges communication and financial interaction by enabling wallet-to-wallet token transfers directly inside chat threads. Users can send ETH or any ERC-20 token to peers, DAO contributors, or community members—without ever leaving the messaging interface.

One-Click, Context-Aware Transactions

  • Integrated UX for Token Transfers Within any active conversation, users can initiate transactions via a streamlined interface—selecting the asset, inputting the amount, and confirming the transaction—all in a few clicks. This supports:

    • Direct payments for services or tasks

    • Peer-to-peer gifting

    • Real-time reward distribution during discussions

    • Group treasury disbursements or bounties

  • Inline Commands and Shortcuts Users can execute token transfers using slash commands (e.g., /send 0.5 ETH @ensname) or through contextual UI buttons embedded within the message thread. This dramatically reduces friction compared to switching to external wallets or DeFi interfaces.

Use Cases: From Social to Operational

  • DAO Payments Pay contributors for completed bounties, stream proposals, or governance-related work directly in a group chat or private message thread.

  • Tipping & Community Incentives Reward creators, educators, or collaborators for valuable input or contributions instantly with one-time token gifts or recurring tips.

  • Fund Transfers & Gifting Whisper supports informal token sharing between friends or formal disbursements across community-driven initiatives—all backed by verifiable wallet-to-wallet transactions.

Wallet Safety and User Control

  • Manual Transaction Approval Every token transfer is signed and broadcasted by the user’s own wallet. Whisper does not hold custody of tokens, nor does it automate any transfer on behalf of users. Each transaction:

    • Requires explicit user approval via MetaMask, WalletConnect, or connected wallets.

    • Is broadcasted on-chain using the user’s own private key.

    • Remains fully auditable through blockchain explorers.

  • No Hidden Permissions Whisper does not request unnecessary wallet permissions. Transfer actions are executed through standard ERC-20 approval mechanisms and are restricted to one-time, scoped interactions defined by the user at the point of transaction.

Privacy & Security

  • Transaction Metadata Separation While transaction records are stored on-chain, Whisper keeps transaction metadata (such as reasons for payment or chat context) off-chain and encrypted. This protects the privacy of conversation-driven payments from being correlated through blockchain analysis.

  • Contextual Audit Trails Each transaction is cryptographically linked to the message thread it originated from, allowing users to maintain their own encrypted audit logs for internal tracking—useful for DAO record-keeping or grant disbursement tracking.
